Lead Penetration Tester
Michael is an experienced penetration tester and technical leader, with over eight years of professional penetration testing experience and more than a decade of technical know-how gained during his service in the Royal Navy.
Following his Royal Navy career, Michael progressed from junior penetration tester to Head of Penetration Testing, gaining extensive experience delivering complex security assessments and leading red team engagements along the way.
Throughout his career, he has delivered and overseen hundreds of penetration tests across a wide range of technologies and environments, developing particular expertise in web application, API and infrastructure security.
As Technical Director, Michael leads AppTest Direct’s technical services, testing methodologies and delivery standards, while remaining hands-on across every penetration test to ensure assessments are thorough, evidence-led and delivered to a consistently high standard.

Deborah brings extensive experience in technical operations, management and project delivery, shaped by more than 16 years of service in the Royal Navy. Her background combines technical understanding with a disciplined approach to leadership, planning and accountability.
As Co-Founder and Operations Director, Deborah leads the operational delivery of AppTest Direct’s services, overseeing engagement coordination, customer communications and quality processes. She translates technical requirements into organised delivery, keeping customers informed and engagements on track.
